Research Methods Week 7 – 10 June 2014

Posted by Hugh on June 19, 2014 in Reflection, Research Methods |

Project presentation week.

This week we had to present our project ideas to our cohort for peer feedback. The week previous we submitted an outline to our tutors and I received some very good feedback that helped form my presentation. I also contributed to others suggesting improvements that may help.

After my presentation I received some very good feedback both from tutors and fellow students. There was a gap in my literature that I had identified, I explained that this gap existed as I had to get familiar again with the ologies of research, i.e. Ontology, epistemology, methodology and phenomenology. Ethics was also discussed and it was becoming more apparent that I will need to apply for ethical approval.

This was a good exercise as it showed areas that I needed to improve on for my research topic. After receiving the formative feedback it was clear that my project idea needed a lot of refining.

It was interesting to see what the other students were looking at and how they were creating their artifact.
