Jakob Nielsen’s heuristics are probably the most-used usability heuristics for user interface design. Nielsen developed the heuristics based on work together with Rolf Molich in 1990.[1]<\/a>[2]<\/a><\/sup> The final set of heuristics that are still used today were released by Nielsen in 1994.[3] <\/a><\/sup>The evaluation Tool evaluates 10 properties:<\/p>\n

  2. Match between system and the real world<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. User control and freedom<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Consistency and standards<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Error prevention<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. Recognition rather than recall<\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. Flexibility and efficiency of use<\/strong><\/li>\n
  8. Aesthetic and minimalist design<\/strong><\/li>\n
  9. Help users recognize, diagnose, and recover from errors<\/strong><\/li>\n
  10. Help and documentation<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
